We love getting together to play at Nana and Grandpa's house! I think our kids definitely bring out the crazy in Hannah! It makes for plenty of laughter though (and maybe tired kids??)!

Swimming
The kids (and Ms. Dayna) always impress me with how quickly they improve in swimming. Owen has already had his first jump into the 6 foot end of the pool. He hesitated and kept telling Dayna how BLUE the water was (not how DEEP it was!!). On Monday he jumped in with no hesitation and rolled to his back without Dayna even helping! He just added on kicking a couple weeks ago and she already has him kicking on his own without her holding him at some points, and this week he added rolling from his back to his stomach down the length of the pool. On Halloween week she had them go down the slide. I wasn't sure how this was going to go over with Owen since we had no idea they were going to do that ahead of time. Dayna's pretty "no nonsense" though so despite his hesitation and tears, they went down the slide together (extra fast due to her costume!!).
Willow is getting more confidence with her dive and is kicking to 6 instead of rushing to the wall right away like she previously had. She's super confident on the slide too! On her back, Dayna is now able to move beside her without giving her any support! Here she is on her own the second half. On her stomach, she just started moving her arms continuously 3 times with breathing! This is what Willow does while Owen does his lesson. Side note: most videos of Owen swimming are now taken by Willow.
We sure are proud of our swimmers!!

Airport "Touch a Truck"
We had a block party in our neighborhood last weekend and were grateful to meet more neighbors. One neighbor we met, Bill, works as the equipment supervisor at the airport and maintains the firetrucks, snowblowing equipment, lawn mowing equipment, etc. He offered to let us bring the kids for a behind-the-scenes tour, so of course we took him up on the offer! Friday after school we went by and spent over an hour having our own hornless "Touch a Truck!" It was about the greatest thing ever for the kids and for Chris and me! We had a ton of questions and it was interesting to learn how everything works.
Check it out in action here!
Girls can like trucks too!
Thanks Bill!!
