Frozen Ballet Camp

Willow participated in a Frozen-themed ballet camp this week. What could be better in a 5-yr old's mind? They did a performance for the parents this afternoon so we got a few pictures and videos. She seemed to have a good time!

An after-performance treat!

Meanwhile, this week Owen has been attending "Camp Daddy:"

I still love when there are moments like this:

Ballet Recital

Tomorrow night is Willow's ballet recital. This afternoon they had pictures and rehearsal on the stage. Since the DVD prices are outrageous I videotaped their rehearsal for memory's sake.

Ballet Recital

Willow took a year-and-a-half of gymnastics before we moved and really seemed to enjoy it. She kept talking about ballet so I looked into classes here this fall. The preschool class she's in does 30 minutes of tap then 30 minutes of ballet. She's done really well listening to her teacher, Ms. Jill, and has become more comfortable with the 4 other girls in her class. All fall they have been building up to the performance this morning. I was pretty sure that she was going to refuse to go on stage or, if she did, that she would stand there with her finger in her mouth (like in her PreK school performances last year). After many pep talks to "do her best and have fun"...she did GREAT! We were SO proud of her! You were not allowed to video tape the performance (you have to buy their videographer's DVD) so I'm not sure I'll be able to upload it onto YouTube when the DVD arrives. Here's their final practice in class.

The teacher did a "demo" of the hair and makeup in class a week before the recital. It took her 45 minutes in class!! There was quite a laundry list of hair/makeup items to buy too! Thanks to Willow's fascination with watching TV, she sat very still this morning, making it a quick-and-easy 15 minute process. It even stayed up/on the whole time!

Mesmerized by the TV
There was a quite an audience! It's probably a good thing the stage lights were so bright she couldn't tell!

A little R&R after the recital:

Phone photo dump

We enjoyed the beautiful fall weather at the park last weekend.

Willow had her second day of her preschool ballet/tap class today. This was her first time getting her shoes actually fitted!

My little tap dancer

And my little goofball...
We've been blessed by our neighbors who are letting us borrow these bikes until we move. We've definitely added some miles to them!

My heart overflowed with joy watching 3 families of kids play together in the culdisac. We've never had that for our kids where we've lived before and it's truly a blessing!!
