Pumpkin Carving

"Glamping"

A large park about 15 minutes away just recently opened a campground with RV spots, cabins, and yurts. We continue to enjoy our sport-free weekends and rented a cabin for the weekend. It brings on a whole new meaning to camping when you have heat, mattresses, a refrigerator, and microwave!

When you walked in the door, there was about 7 feet of floor space before you reached these two bunks:

Willow was super proud of making their bed. She said she was so excited to sleep in their bed because SHE MADE IT! We let her know that she could do this EVERY day if she'd like! ;)

 The kids spent any down-time we had exploring in the woods behind our site:

 The weather was very fall like, in the 50s-60s, which was great for sitting around the fire!

 We hiked the trails from 8:30-10:30. The kids did great and the colors were beautiful - I think we hit a peak weekend!

We're thankful Chris is feeling well enough to enjoy the ziplines too!

They had their "Scare Quest" decorations out during the day too. I'm not sure we're ready for ziplining at night with headlamps!

The kids' favorite part of the cabin was definitely the ladder. It slid from the side to the middle and it was their favorite thing to do!!

Owen spit out his loose tooth while brushing his teeth! It's the easiest tooth either of them has ever lost! Thankfully the Tooth Fairy still found him at the campground!

It rained all Saturday night and Sunday morning which made packing the car and getting ready for church a bit more challenging. Go figure, once we got the car loaded, the rain stopped and blue sky emerged!

 We had a great time and hope to go back again!

Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed a weekend getaway to see our favorite family! They greeted us with s'mores when we got there even!

The "big kids" enjoyed playing with Legos:

The girls enjoyed dancing and driving on the Wii. I think Cadence wins the  most points for "stage face" ;)

Clara did a great job of being a chill 3rd child which allowed for a lot of adult conversation. Thanks Clara!!!

The boys bonded over sticks:

The dads took the "big kids" to the park twice while Clara napped. They made a fun imaginary kid-only world in the woods behind the park and overall did a great job playing together! Check out Chris' "launch"

The girls enjoyed having a sleepover and stayed up to watch Aladdin.

The kids enjoyed the trampoline park!

It was hard to catch a clear photo of all Jason's slam dunks. Here's a video.

Owen enjoyed the zipline too. 

And Clara decided Chris wasn't so bad after all. ;)
