Happy Halloween!

Halloween looked a bit different this year due to COVID and my being quarantined due to a possible exposure at school. We had a belated celebration with family but on the actual day the kids enjoyed making Reese pieces cookies and mummy wrapped hotdogs!

The kids enjoyed getting together with family a week later to celebrate. Nana had fun games for them to play, like eating a donut hung from the doorway

They also had a race to get to the end of their toilet paper roll. Hunter and Grandpa definitely had the best technique!

The adults spread out throughout the townhouse and the kids enjoyed making multiple rounds to "trick-or-treat." Willow brought a new homemade costume for each round!

There wasn't a shortage of candy!!

The kids enjoyed an egg-and-spoon race too.

And a blind-folded "name that candy" game.

Kim brought silly string for them. They emptied those cans pretty quick!

They made a fun craft too!

Pumpkin Carving

We only made it to one pumpkin patch this year so we had to choose our designs carefully with only 3 pumpkins ;) Owen's school had a contest and of course he decided to draw and carve a Clone Trooper (NOT to be confused with a Storm Trooper!!).

Whiskers offered to help:

The mask seemed appropriate this year ;)

October fun

We moved the squirt bottle downstair for kitten discipline (scratching at the door) and Willow tried disciplining Chris at the dinner table for his constant teasing. Unfortunately for her, it was unsuccessful.

Willow got a bike upgrade! We didn't realize there was a national bike shortage but, thanks to a friend keeping an eye out for us, we were able to find this 26" bike. It sure makes her previous one look tiny!!

We've enjoyed a few fall-weather rides lately. Her friend joined us for the last ride we took which was also our longest...7 miles (with a treat halfway)!

 Willow lost a tooth!

We enjoyed a fall drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway and a picnic with Gramps and Gramma while they were visiting! It was peak color weekend!

We enjoyed getting to be with Gramps for his birthday too!

Pumpkin Patch!

We had a great time at the pumpkin patch with ALL our family (even Gramps and Gramma were in town!). It was blue sky but pretty chilly with the wind...as should be expected in October!

The kids always enjoy this giant tube!

Hunter got some good speed on the slide!

They may not have a future as a band together, but they enjoyed the music with a view!
