Willow said, "Daddy, can we play ruffle house?" Is that the girl version of rough house?
Chris and I divided and conquered on Friday since he had the day off. Chris took Willow to a park and Owen and I went back to the horse show. We spent more time checking out the horses (in their stalls, getting their hooves painted [can anyone help me understand this???], getting bathed) and watching a skid steer front loader fill up a HUGE front loader with "horse waste" then empty it than we did watching the horse jumping this time.
| We'd gotten to check out the front loader up close when it was parked before we saw it in action. |
The kids' favorite part of making brownies:
Saturday we enjoyed a fun indoor water park at the local recreation center. It wasn't crowded at all and we all had a great time! We can't wait for those swimming lessons in July!! Check them out on the slide here.
I'm glad we have little kids as an excuse to play on this:
We hadn't ventured by the local SPCA to pet the cats yet (an activity we enjoyed before we moved). Owen is really in to Alli lately so we thought he'd really enjoy it. I happened to look it up online and they had a grand opening for their cat room that day! We stopped by to check it out and it was pretty nice. There were just two cats in the room you could interact with and one slept the whole time (pretty amazing considering Owen's high pitch squeal and talking voice when around cats) but the other one was very friendly. We'll have to go back again!
We put out a tarp with sand on it with trucks for Owen's birthday party. 2 1/2 months later it's still been a lot of fun for the kids to play with. Unfortunately we didn't remember to fold it back up last night when it rained, so it made for good mud pies today.
