Last day of school!!

The kids are out of school for the summer! I have two more weeks, but we won't talk about that ;)  Chris was able to attend the awards ceremonies for both kids who were recognized for having a great year! Check out Chris' surprise for them when they got off the bus (here and here)

Owen has started working with the Gifted teacher this year and came home with a project he'd been working on with her - his dream home!!

We've lucked out with great teachers this year!!

Willow's School Performance

 The music teacher at the kids' school does a great job of ensuring that all students have a performance at some point during the year. In October, the performance was by 3rd and 4th grades as was an African celebration. The kids did great - especially a fun song with "rounds." Willow even had a drumming part, which was fun to watch her enjoy!

1st Day of School!

It's hard to believe that the first day of school has come already AND that we have a 1st and 4th grader! Gasp!!! Where is time going????

Willow requested this braid that we had never done before and she was pretty excited about it:

They both reported having a good first day. Willow was excited about applying for classroom jobs (she chose Chair Stacker, Backup Helper, and Librarian). Owen was excited about the bag of Cheetos in his lunchbox. They're both excited to go back, so we'll call that a good sign!!
