July

Gramps is doing great at the memory care facility where he's lived for about a year now. They get to go on outings and he's recently visited a drive-thru zoo!
Chris and I visited a new peach orchard last summer during their festival which was way to "peopley" so we opted to visit the weekend before their festival this year. The peaches were still great and we were practically there by ourselves! Win win!
I got together with a girl from my school to paint rocks for a local student fighting cancer. We even got the school staff and families to join us to paint more!
Our library has hosted a few puzzle races but we've had conflicts with the dates until now!! Chris and I were the only two there at the start, so we had to battle against each other (he's not really into puzzles....). I've never consciously tried to do a puzzle quickly, it's always been more of a relaxing activity, so it was fun to try. We'll have to try again sometime and hope for more competition!
We had a tree taken out from the front yard. Its roots were cracking up the driveway, it oozed liquid, and had a large root that made it difficult to back the camper into the carport. A friend from school recommended a company and they did a great job! Since it was during the summer, it provided great entertainment for me! :)
We've never seen Betty and Terry's house so clearly!
We should've warned the neighbors they were about to have a very sunny backyard!
We had a chance to go see Hunter swim in his tournament!
A little time on the water with friends!

We also saw Hannah's performance for her summer theater camp. It was a fun show!

Owen stayed with Nana and Grandpa and attended a bowling camp with Hunter. They each got a new bowling ball and got to pick out the weight and color!
The kids' friends had a slip-n-slide at their grandparent's house. It was the perfect hill and a classic way to finish up the summer!
Chris and I celebrated our 20th anniversary with dinner reservations to a new restaurant!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! None of the Seths made it up to ring in the new year, but we did enjoy going to our first hockey game of the season on New Years Eve. I think the kids liked the popcorn best:

Dad enjoyed watching the play-by-play of multiple games on his phone which made it possible for the Bills to go to the playoffs for the first time since 1999. Hooray!!!

Willow and I enjoyed a New Years Day lunch and bowling with her friend Scottie and her mom. We enjoyed playing 3 games together and Willow even broke 100 in the last game!!

Willow ended up going over to Scottie's house to play after bowling, which turned into spending the night too. I'm glad they played well together for so long!! You just never know with girls at this age!!

Willow convinced Gramps and Gramma that she needed a Fit Bit. Chris and I weren't so convinced it was necessary but have enjoyed seeing her sleep and number of steps taken daily. She came home after spending the night at Scottie's and was pretty wiped out. I got a text from Chris at work saying she was 90 mins strong into a nap and hadn't woken up yet. Upon getting home that day we were able to check the Fit Bit to see when she fell asleep at Scottie's. You can interpret the screen shot below which shows the times she falls asleep and wakes up daily and the total amount of sleep each night. You might be able to understand why I was so confused/shocked when looking at her "sleep" during the sleepover but then understood why she needed that 2 hour nap the next day!!! Eeeek!

Bowling

We took advantage of a Groupon to get 2 hours of bowling. A family of friends of ours bought one too, so we enjoyed a rainy Saturday afternoon bowling with them, then went to dinner together too!

Bowling Again!!

The local bowling alley had a "Kid Fest" where kids got to play free, so we took Gramps and Gramma with us to enjoy the morning bowling. Owen hung in for a whole game this time and the adults even got an extra hour in using both lanes!
Looks like a strike to me!

What a pro!!

Great follow-through!

Willow wins!!

Mama won with this pitiful score.

Gramma won the second game by a long shot!
