Other Summer Fun (Goat Yoga, new hair, Shannons, bowling)

I had the opportunity to try Goat Yoga with a couple friends! It was....interesting! :) I'm happy to report that I walked away without my yoga mat being pooped on, so we'll call that a success!

 Whiskers enjoys being in Willow's bed but she won't let her sleep with her overnight. Meanwhile Owen's heart bursts with joy when she comes in his bed :)

Bound and determined to have them confident in cooking before they leave the house!

Owen attended the library's summer reading program kickoff with a friend.

Owen is still attending a weekly ninja class. It's good exercise for him!

Sometimes they have "extra" things, like this Spiderman inflatable!

Willow had a trim but asked for her to curl her hair. Her face looked like she was on Cloud 9!

Her purple has faded out but you catch glimpses of her bleached hair underneath every once in a while. 

We brought out some "trail magic" for the Appalachian Trail thru-hikers one weekend. It was the end of the peak season for our area but we did see a handful and they were grateful! They were all super kind and interesting to talk with on their brief stop with us. It'd be fun to do again!

Owen took advantage of summertime to try out a mohawk. The guys tried to scare me when he came down half-shaved... I love his genuine joy in this picture though!

We enjoyed free summer bowling this summer. Gramps and Gramma joined us!

A bike ride for ice cream with a friend!

We joined Hannah and Hunter at the pool while Willow was on her mission trip. 

Summertime is for icecream!!

We enjoyed a day with the Shannons before they started packing for their move to the west coast. Owen was happy to have Scott join him on the Wii!

We took a hike with their dogs, who loved jumping in the river to cool off!

 

Owen is losing a lot of teeth lately!

He even lost one at a cousin sleepover at Nana and Grandpa's!

We're beyond grateful for our "older" BFFs. They've been such a blessing to us, between my Grow Group with Connie, nursery with Joe, Chris working with Joe for a bit, aaaaaand inviting us to share their box seats to the baseball game!

Blueberry Picking

We always love blueberry picking season! And time with family!

To find the best berries, sometimes you have to get in the middle of it!! Willow is always a dedicated picker!

Ziplining

It had been a while since we'd been to our local ziplining obstacle course. We all had fun and Gramps and Gramma were able to watch some too!

This part over the path was new. Gramma's ready to catch him if needed!

 

Theater/Basketball Camps

Kim had spoken so highly of an area university's basketball camp from last summer, that we signed up Owen to attend with Hannah and Hunter this summer. It was a 4-day camp and he stayed with Nana and Grandpa since they lived close by and were taking Hannah and Hunter any way. They were all 3 on different teams due to their age but enjoyed having extra time together in the afternoons and evenings. 

There are two local children's theaters and both were having camps for Willow's age the same week, which also happened to be the week that Owen was at basketball camp. One was in the morning and one in the afternoons. She got a good taste of theater that week! I enjoyed having lunch with her in between camps too! Here are a few pictures off their facebook page:

They did a performance for parents at the end of the week. Willow had a solo!!

She got reconnected with a friend from elementary school!

Willow attended a local college's girls basketball camp as well. Unfortunately we didn't know about it earlier and this is her last summer to attend before aging out. She seemed to have a good time though!
