Bathtime

Bath time is a busy time!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Willow enjoyed writing her friends' names on their valentine picture.

He's on the move!

Owen is showing a bit more confidence in taking steps! This morning he took quite a few and was excited about it. Check him out here. We were equally as excited when Willow first took steps.

Art around the house

Willow has been inconsistent with her desire to do artwork in the past year. Sometimes she'll show a lot of concentration and desire while other times none at all. I was super impressed with her drawing of people recently!
"Mama"

"Nana" (before she added the body)

"Mama and Nana on the whole world"

Her writing of my name on my "prescription"

The "PBS Restaurant" created out of Willow's new car seat. Full menu on the inside of the window flaps.

Owen: Ten months

Poor Owen has had a replay of November, spending 3 weeks of the past month sick. After our 4th visit to the doctor we now have a diagnosis of RSV and croup. We're hoping the steroids he's on now will clear everything up quickly! He seems to enjoy playing with his nebulizer more than breathing into it. Owen is saying more repeated sounds these days and is quite the talker. We've been wondering if he'd be a talker like his big sis, or lay back and let her do all the talking. So far it seems like he's not going to let her dominate the conversation! Again, he's happiest when walking with fingers or climbing the stairs. He's not quite confident enough to go out on his own yet, but will walk with one finger beside you fairly stably. Besides climbing the stairs, Owen has stepped onto the step stools in the bathrooms a few times by pulling up on the sink. He also crawls OVER things with ease now. He's all boy! We started table foods with Owen in the past month. He hasn't be quite as adventurous as Willow was (who ate anything and everything you put in front of her!), but he's done well with chicken, spaghetti, yogurt, and rice. Maybe his appetite will increase once he gets to feeling a bit better. Besides being miserable and sick, another factor into our sleepless nights has been the FOUR teeth Owen gained this month. He now has all four on top and bottom. His interest in books has increased slightly in that he'll now lift flaps and move to turn the pages (although aggressively!). Owen has even waved hello a few times! So fun!!

We had our "9 month" well visit today, at 10 months old and "not well." Here are his stats:

Weight: 22 lb 8 oz (85%ile)
Height: 30" (90%ile)
Head Circumference: 18 1/2" (90%ile)

Willow: Quotable Quotes

Here are some of my favorite sayings from Willow in the last few months (that are written down so I can remember...):

On the way home from church, unwrapping her dum-dum: "It says this lollipop is made out of baskets." (root beer flavored)

On a different day driving home from church with her lollipop: "I'm getting sooner to the stick."

(No, we're not loading Willow up on sugar after church...they give dum-dums for being good listeners in Sunday School and for knowing their catechisms.)

Willow refers to gravy as "potato sauce."

Chris typically gives Willow a couple choices for lunch. One day she said, "Dada, can you choose for me?" It can be exhausting having so many important decisions to make as a 3 year old!

I added cayenne pepper into our enchilada soup according to the directions, which we've made many times without. At dinner Willow said, "My mouth feels like it's burning." She loves salsa, but that was definitely the spiciest meal she's had!

I tried a Pinterest recipe for biscuit and gravy casserole this weekend. While eating it, Willow said, "I like it so much I could burst!" (I guess this balances out my mistake with the cayenne pepper the night before?!)
