Willow's writing

Signs on Willow's door:

Willow has grown into quite a good writer and illustrator this year!

She seems to have a lot of "extra time" in class this year, which she has used to make some pretty elaborate paper creations, many of which are very creative:

Check out this elaborate bunk bed. It even had people who could slip into a slot she cut so it looked like they were going under the covers.

I love the "aksdadle" =)

We're super proud of her reading too!

Writing!

Here are some of the writing samples Willow has come home with lately:

Chris does a great job of keeping Owen busy during his days at home while he works. Here is the difference in Owen's tracing ability this year:

They are working on name writing at preschool too:

The $15 traceable letter stamps that I purchased while in the classroom was a great investment in more ways than one! Owen has gotten a lot of use out of them in making birthday cards lately! He wanted the inside of Grandpa's card to say, "Dear Grandpa, I love you. Do you like playing with Legos?"

Willow's School Concert

The 1st and 2nd graders at Willow's school did a winter concert this week. It was a full house in the cafetorium so we didn't have the best seats to see her, but she did a great job knowing the songs and motions. Can you spot her in her light blue Elsa hat?

Check out some of their songs:

Owen thought the performance was pretty great too!

First week of First Grade!

Willow had a great first week of first grade! We got to meet her teacher at Open House, find her desk, and get her school supplies unpacked.

Gramma and I went with her to get our nails painted. Gramma was brave enough to let Willow pick out the color for her nails. Sparkly purple it was (after being talked out of the 4 colors she picked for Gramma!).

She was confident and ready for her first day! She reported a good day every day, though you could tell she was tired as the week progressed. Thankfully we had a week with no swimming, gymnastics, or church music time to help us get readjusted. We'll see how next week goes when we're "full swing!" Thursday was a rough day with feeling ignored by her friends, though the Friday report was much better =) We're praying for a great year for our sweet girl!
