Willow was excited to make her own ice cream cake for her birthday this year. She learned from doing Owen's and used a round pan for hers. It was even topped with caramel drizzle and cookie dough chunks!
Willow is looking a lot happier than our azalea bush!!
She's passed me in height and is creeping up on Gramps!
Willow picked her "non drama" friends to celebrate her birthday with. They went to Bubblecake, painted pottery, then ate dinner at Red Robin. It was sweet to hear them laugh and enjoy being together!
We celebrated Willow's birthday with family too! There was a carnival in town, so they checked that out before dinner.

Willow has had quite a year! She's learned a lot about leadership, conflict, and boys and has come out stronger because of it. She's continued to do well in school, especially enjoying choir. She's got more confidence than I've ever had and I admire that about her. After school she usually stays in her room until dinner but then enjoys staying with us for games the rest of the evening (aka "Forced Family Fun" time). She enjoys listening to music and singing in the shower. She continues to enjoy the Radish Kids box that she gets in the mail each month from the Caldwells that includes a recipe for a main dish, side dish, and dessert. She's more inclined to try new things that she's made. She enjoys when her friend Helena comes over to bake. Willow continues to be an avid reader. She's always got a book beside her at breakfast and enjoys reading before bed. Her looooooong showers have prohibited her from having much, if any, reading time with us at night though. She's started sleeping in on weekends, often being woken up by 9:30 so she doesn't waste her day away. It's been sweet to watch her develop into her own unique self. She's a gem!
