Owen has been quite a happy little guy since he’s been
walking. He loves exploring (aka “getting into everything”) and the freedom it
gives him. He is really putting focus into trying to run and keep up with
Willow. During recent trips to Kangaroo Jac’s and a local park, Owen was just
going going going! He loved going down the inflatable slides at Kangaroo Jac’s
and climbed up a little ladder at an area playground without hesitation. He’s still
in love with his big sis. He even deals well with her over-excitedness around him
too, which occasionally knocks him off his feet (sigh). This month Owen has
started playing peek-a-boo where he’s the one hiding and popping out (I’ll try
to get a video off my phone…). He’s also started tapping/stomping one food
while standing. He still leaves much to be desired in regards to sleep at night…ugh…and
might be close to dropping his morning nap already. He’s been pretty inconsistent
with eating solids – sometimes eating more than Willow and other times not
being interested in anything but pureed food. His favorites have been Three
Cheese Pasta, chili, yogurt, and goldfish. In the last week he’s starting “sharing”
things by handing things to other people. He shared his paci with me in the car
on the way to Aunt Kim and Uncle Chad’s yesterday. Since that’s about his
favorite thing in the world, I’ll take it as a compliment that he was willing
to share with me! Owen is quite a babbler. He might be saying mama and dada in
context now and we think he’s intentionally said something close to “ball”
twice while holding a ball. He's obsessed with getting into Alli's cat food, so we'll be glad when that obsession goes away. He does occasionally stop doing something when told but is definitely testing the limits =)
Here are Owen's stats:
Height: 31 3/4" (97%ile)

I forgot to take his 12- month picture before we left town,
so that will come when we get back.
Here’s a video I made of Owen’s First Year.
