The kids enjoyed helping us put up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. It sure feels like Christmas once we play Andrew Peterson's "Behold the Lamb" CD for the first time of the year and get the decorations put up!
The kids did great with putting decorations around the house too. Owen had the idea of having a candle-lit dinner with all the random Christmas candles we put around the house. It sure smelled good and sparked the inner romantic in him ;)
Aaaaaaand...Belle is back!!
Cold evenings make Alli extra interested in curling up for some warmth....or stretching out super long!?
Cold days are good for playing games too. Chris was super excited when Owen showed interest in playing Scrabble since it's his favorite game!
It ranks as one of my two least favorite games (Trivial Pursuit being my least favorite). It confirmed it's placement when my tray (with Owen) looked like this:
We had a rare December snow....and a significant one too! There was only an inch when we woke up, it snowed all day, then measured 12" before dinner/dark. The kids got outside 3 times throughout the day!
Ready for launch! Dad's launches make the little hill in the backyard feel much bigger!
Watch your back Willow!!
Playing with construction vehicles in the trampoline never gets old!
And neither of them can resist eating it!
Early in the morning the top of this fence had an interesting pattern to it (similar to what's above the yellow butterfly, but consistent the whole length of the fence). It had me pretty stumped because it was so symmetrical but the top of the fence doesn't have any dips that would cause the snow to fall through creating the dips. THEN Chris spotted a squirrel that jumped across the fence in a different length jump, creating a new pattern. We all cracked up laughing as the mystery was solved ;)
White Winterland!
We made a few sledding runs down the street too!
Crazy kids!!
9" at lunchtime!
12" before dinner!
Warming up by the fire with comics and hot chocolate!
and a good book!
It didn't warm up the next few days, so we had lots of snow fun! We went sledding at our favorite hill at a nearby school. Here's Owen and the kids together.
We even met family at the pool on one snow day from school, because...why not??
Owen came up with the idea of standing up on the sled but didn't stick with it as long as Willow. Looks like we have a little snowboarder!! Check her out!
Willow and I got tickets to Lauren Daigle's "Behold" Christmas tour which really got us in the Christmas spirit!! I love her voice!
Check her out!
