COVID

Having steered clear of COVID for 22 months feels a bit like this...

Owen got his vaccine when it was approved in November and we were excited that he got his first dose before our Disney trip. 

Unfortunately the Omicron variant has proven strong and mighty and Owen became one of these statistics:

We were supposed to go sledding and to a water park over the holiday weekend with family but when Owen had a runny nose after school on Thursday, we decided to track down an at-home COVID test just to reassure ourselves before being around others. We were SHOCKED when it came back positive! We got a 2nd test the next morning that also came back positive, so we all hunkered down at home. Thankfully the vaccine did help in making his symptoms minor. He was only congested and never lost his energy. At one point he was running around the house on Friday and I couldn't help but laugh and thank the vaccine for him feeling so well!

Gramps and Gramma made a door drop delivery of DQ Blizzards for us all!!

Thankfully the rest of us never had any symptoms. Willow has since gotten her booster since it's approved for her age. We've upgraded to KN95 masks in hoping to make it through this final push COVID-free!!
