School is out for summer!! When I got home from school on Friday Willow and I made a list of summer activities we'd like to do. It's sad thinking about our favorite places we've gone the past summers, but exciting at the same time that we have new places to explore and names of friends to invite to meet us.
We've had incredibly enjoyable early-summer weather the past week. I can't emphasize how grateful I am for our shaded backyard and the breeze that comes down the hill in our neighborhood. We love being able to have the windows open all day!
Owen and Willow have both enjoyed riding this rocking horse that my grandfather made...it's the "taking turns" and "waiting patiently for your turn" that we're working on:

We went to pick strawberries at the same patch that had the strawberry festival last month. They lost $80,000 of strawberries this year and have been very honest about the pickin' being slim this year...and it was. With all 6 of us picking we were able to get one almost-full bucket before calling it quits. We kept combining our buckets to see how close we were to a full bucket, each of us hoping that the other was having better luck. We were able to get enough to snack on and make strawberry bread...and maybe even enough to try strawberry milkshakes or smoothies.
Through friends we learned about a fun free place downtown. They had a few aquarium tanks with beautiful fish (Willow kept saying, "Ohhh, look at that one! Ahhhh, look at that one!"), seahorses, jellyfish, and turtles (not in the same tank...haha). Then you could go up on the roof (7th floor) to look out on the city and see the rooftop gardens and coy pond. It was fun!
...and we've been playing lots of ball!!
