We took one last family trip before school started back for me. We enjoyed a few more days at Water Country with our passes, which has definitely been one of our favorite places to be this summer. We need to build some kind of express train route to get us there faster than 4 hours though!
We stopped at our favorite apple picking orchard, which we recently learned has pick your own peaches! What a fun surprise! We made it out with quite a load after just a couple minutes (literally!) in the orchard. There were tons of peaches low enough for the kids to pick, yet they enjoyed climbing in the trees to reach for the high ones. We'll definitely try to make it out for their peach festival next July! We enjoyed eating most of them plain, but also tried making a peach frozen yogurt and peach fruit roll-up. Both were good! We ate too many plain before I was able to use enough to make peach cobbler. Next time!!
Owen loved running ahead of us on the trails going in and out of the orchard. Hopefully this means he'll be a good hiker some day soon!
Equally as exciting as the peaches were the apple cider donuts!!!! We loooooove these and walked away with a dozen =)
The kids were too excited about the peaches to wait for them to soften a bit. Neither of them complained about how crunchy they were =)
We had great weather for enjoying Water County. Again, not many pictures were taken since we get to enjoy a lot of the water areas with them. We went Sunday afternoon (very packed!!!), Monday morning and Tuesday morning. Both Monday and Tuesday mornings we started with "Big Daddy Falls" before the line got too long. We rode it 5 or 6 times back-to-back each morning! It's definitely our favorite! We also convinced the kids to try "Meltdown" which we went on in pairs. It's a lot like "Big Daddy" except it's in a long train-like tube rather than a circle. They enjoyed it but we didn't ride it until mid-afternoon and decided the 30ish minute in line wasn't quite worth it.
We were lucky the Murrays were able to join us on Monday. How did I not get a picture of Willow and Cadence???? Here's my fav of Morgan and Caleb though!
Our friends Jeanne, Mckenzie, and Holly have moved to Washington state now, but were in the area for the summer. We were grateful to meet up with them Tuesday since we haven't seen them for two years!!! I loved seeing the girls hit it off right away and enjoy their afternoon together and, of course, Jeanne and I had a ton to catch up on. I just wish we'd had longer!!
