We didn't expect to be home for the 4th of July but were due to our cat Alli being sick, so we didn't have any 4th of July plans. We ended up getting together with the family to decorate cupcakes and cookout, then went to watch fireworks from the kids' school that evening.

This year was Owen's first year staying up for fireworks. The kids both enjoyed playing with sparklers and watching fireworks of people in the neighborhood around the school before the bigger show by the city (though some neighbors were stiff competition!).
Owen was saying made up magic words, like he was in Harry Potter. This picture makes it looks like it worked!!
