Summer Fun: June version!

We've been having lots of fun so far this summer! The kids have each been to a camp (Willow - soccer, Owen - Legos) and we've been able to spend time with friends and family!!

Hannah had her dance recital and we were able to go see. She did a great job and looked adorable of course. Hunter enjoyed dancing along to some of the song but thought some were too loud:

Willow's friend Scottie has a swimming pool at her house, they've enjoyed getting together a couple of times to cool off together!

Chris is our family's grocery shopper but was out of town for a graduation party so I braved taking the kids with me to get the week's groceries. They were bribed with doing well so they could pick out one thing they wanted at the end and they did great! Willow pulled items off the shelf and Owen crossed the off the list. Owen picked mint Oreos and Willow picked BBQ chips for being good shoppers =)

Owen has had more of an interest in helping with baking projects lately:

We're working on our summer reading logs and love these cubbies at the library!

Don't think Owen volunteered for doing the dishes...we're working on putting things in the dishwasher on our own without reminders and "get to" help when we forget ;)

Morning game time:

Sidewalk chalk never gets old!

We don't last at parks very long with the summer heat, but cooling off at the fountains afterwards helps!!

We enjoyed the children's museum with Nana, Grandpa, Hunter, and Hannah. They go off in 4 different directions but each have a good time.

Willow's friend Elena came over for a day. They enjoyed baking cookies, playing Just Dance, and throwing water balloons together.

We collected our first gallon of blueberries for the year. The kids helped for as long as they could manage then Grandpa watched them as they played. We've already enjoyed blueberry muffins and blueberry banana bread. We'll be ready for our 2nd pick of the season soon!

We cooled off afterwards at the aquatic center!

Wait for it....wait for it...

2 of my 4 ferns that I got for Mother's Day now have bird nests in them as well as another tree in our front yard. We enjoy supporting the bird population ;)

Softball and Tball got us off our parent-child date days this spring but we jumped back on track. Owen and I enjoyed donuts and the trampoline park while Chris and Willow watched a Harry Potter movie (#5). They're almost done reading book #7!

Chris grew dill and pickling cucumbers this year in the garden. Here's our first attempt at pickling!!

We enjoyed a trampoline park by Nana and Grandpa's house that we'd never been to. It had a couple areas that our local trampoline park doesn't have, which was fun. Here's a couple videos of a fun area with a bar that moves around. We got plenty of laughs out of it and plenty of falls too!! (It's best attempted after going to the bathroom!!)

The kids participated in our church's VBS program. They had a good time although it made for an exhausting week with late nights!

Willow's friend Scottie came over and they made some icecream sandwiches out of cookies them "sold" them at their shop. They were tasty!!

I can't get enough of this!!

We went to one of our favorite children's museums that's about an hour away. The kids had a great time!

We enjoyed making cookies and going to the pool with the family!

They had an awesome park beside the pool that we couldn't resist checking out. It was really cool!

She made it to the top!
