Willow's quotable quotes posts have been some of my favorites to go back and reread (Dec 2011, June 2012, Sept 2012, Feb 2013, April 2013). Willow has enjoyed looking through the blog books with me as they've arrived in the mail and even gets a chuckle out of some of her quotables from when she was younger. There aren't quite as many these days due to her being more mature and not pronouncing or using words incorrectly as much. She still says "lellow" for yellow if she's not thinking about it, as well as "hangaber" for hamburger which still makes us smile. We've joked about getting a video of Owen saying "Willow" and Willow saying "yellow" since they both pronounce them as lillow/lellow.
Here are a few from recently:
Mom: Your ponytail looks nice. Did Daddy or Gramma do it?
Willow: Daddy, but he struggled a little bit.
(insert public kudos to Daddy for succumbing to Mama's desire for color-coordinated outfits and for doing Willow's hair daily since she usually wakes up within 5 minutes of when I leave for school...and it was a truly impressive ponytail, by the way!)
"Owen is fond of his trucks."
At the doctor's office Owen was putting up quite a fight against the doctor looking in his mouth at a sick visit. Willow simply advised him, "Just open up your mouth like you do when you brush your teeth." Such a good big sis!
We were in the car driving back from PA during Christmas break. We (adults) usually need a reason to stop after "naptime" (in quotes because we never get a good nap on long trips) for a snack/treat. The kids had gotten a bag of cracker-chips to share and they were doing a good job of sharing them with Chris and me as well. When there were just a few left Willow said, "If you want any chips, Dada, you're gonna want to get them now!" Consider yourself warned =)
Willow and Owen have been super-sweet in giving each other hugs lately. When we were in PA, Willow was hugging Owen and shouted, "Gramma, you're gonna wanna see this!" She sure knows that Gramma loves that she loves her brother!
"Nana, did you know my ballet building is glued to a pizza place?"
