CO fun!

We had a great time in Colorado for the past week. The weather was beautiful and the company was great! Our flights were smooth on the way to CO and the kids hung in there alright (thanks to portable electronic devices). Owen's only nap was during the turbulence the last 20 minutes of our 2nd flight. We would've wished for more turbulence if we'd have known that's all it would take to put him to sleep! Our flights coming home were a bit more of an event. Our first flight was delayed, causing us to miss our two connecting flights. Our "backup" flights were also both delayed but somehow we and our bags were able to make the 20-minute connection in Chicago to arrive home just after midnight.

The kids enjoyed playing the piano. Here's Willow and Owen's duet and Willow's solo (I love how she gets her whole body into it):

My grandpa made this airplane scooter:

Hannah got to enjoy it too!

Wandering with Uncle Chad:

Somehow Nana is able to collect endless amounts of entertainment for the kids:

We enjoyed the town's community center pool a couple times:

Hannah tried popsicles too!

Thankfully Chick-fil-A's Cow Appreciation Day is nationwide. We hate to miss out on free Chick-fil-A!!

We drove up to Golden (near Denver) for my cousin's wedding. It was great to see the MN side of the family that I haven't seen since Kim's wedding or longer. Joel and Grace were great about having a family cookout Friday night and a breakfast at their house Sunday morning, so we were able to see the family more than just at the wedding Saturday evening. Hopefully I can get the cousins picture from Joel when he gets his wedding pictures back. Who knows when we'll be together next! Kim found a great rental house for us to stay in to make it easier on the kids. It was a 10-acre ranch with a playset and horses and it worked great! The kids enjoyed feeding the horses and Owen practically lived in the sandbox under the playset.

Saturday morning we met my friend Angie, from high school, for brunch with her husband. The kids did great at the restaurant (it gave us hope that maybe someday we can enjoy eating at sit-down restaurants with the kids) then enjoyed a nice playground so we could catch up even more.

It was a lot of driving during our week in CO. Here's a great pic to capture one of the happy moments (since they definitely weren't all happy!!):

Don't be fooled. Chris' moment of peace and relaxation lasted about 30 seconds:

Hannah had her first "deep" bath and her first bath with company/entertainment:

The weather didn't work out for an outdoor ceremony as planned, but it was a beautiful ceremony nonetheless!

Congratulations Joel and Grace!

Isn't this a fun idea? They had each guest write a message on a rock to put in their garden as a "guest book." I wish I knew what Owen's said. It definitely looks like the key to happiness!

Back at Nana and Grandpa's we enjoyed some s'mores!!

and some time in the pool. The kids couldn't wait for the water to warm up so they played in it cold! Brrrrrrr!

The kids enjoyed making homemade pizzas while Mom and Dad enjoyed dinner out, mini golf, and go-carts:

and making cookies too:

We checked out a fun park:

and the fun splash pad next door to the park:

Cornhole (kid version):

If you lost track of where Owen was, he was usually at the sandbox:

Spoiled with treats:

We'll definitely miss this view:

Thanks for a great week!
