We had a great week in PA with Gramps and Gramma last week. The high was in the low 70s each day so it was great to get outside and play without being a drippy, sweaty mess! We had a canoeing trip planned, but they were letting water out of the dam each day that week so we were unable to go.
Gramps and Gramma know the way to Willow and Owen's heart lately: a new Lego set for each of them when we arrived:

We really lucked out on our trip to an area Audubon Society. We saw them feed the snapping turtle, frog, and snake (video of the snake eating a frozen mouse here if you're interested).
While enjoying our mile walk, a man mentioned to us that they were about to start banding birds. We followed him over and joined in their excitement with each other over what they'd caught in their nets to tag. Among them was a male and female hummingbird. This one was beautiful! The color on its chest changed from brown to bright red to neon pink depending on which angle you looked at it from:
They set it into Gramma's hand and it stayed there for a minute before zooming off. What an experience!!
We saw lots of wildlife on our walk, including geese, 3 snakes, deer, and frogs.
All reading is easier with Gramma's glasses: (I know we have a very similar pic of Willow with Gramma's glasses, but my searching has not been successful...I'll keep trying)

Bedtime stories!
We taught Willow how to play 4-Square and she did pretty well!
Gramps and Gramma's driveway was large and tempting enough to fill with a "city" like we typically draw for Owen for his trucks (usually his are a 3x3' square though!!).
We even enjoyed our alfredo "al fresco" one evening!

Even trying the tablecloth becomes a game when you're at Gramps and Grammas:
We heard a helicopter fly over while we were playing outside one evening. Since the hospital is only 1 mile away, we hopped in the car to go check out the helicopter. The pilot was super nice in allowing us to check everything out and educate us on helicopters (which have ROTOR BLADES, not PROPELLERS). We enjoyed watching it take off after they picked up their patient. Check out our video.
We love when Gramps and Gramma have family over to the house while we're there so we're able to see everyone. The kids helped make and decorate cupcakes for the cookout:
It was fun to see Willow interacting with her 2nd cousin Landon. Owen spent most of his time throwing a ball for Dakota and loved it.
It was "warm enough" to go to the pool at the end of the week but took a while to get used to the chilly water. The kids, of course, jumped right in:

"Uncaptured moments" include the hundreds of times we went into the kids' room at bedtime to tell them to get back into their beds. If I wasn't correcting their behavior at the time, I would've gotten a picture of them sweetly reading together in bed with a flashlight in their best attempt to not get caught (they may be more successful when Owen learns to control his voice volume!). When we went to Busch Gardens for Spring Break, Owen got into the habit of joining Chris and I in bed at some point in the middle of the night. The habit continued when we went to Water Country in early June and on this trip as well. Another "uncaptured moment" was when Owen was laying in our bed to fall back asleep and put his hand on my back. Sweet boy. (Another "uncaptured moment" was when Owen turned on the light in the living room sometime between 1am and 5am to play with his Legos. Maybe it's not technically an uncaptured moment since he was the only one awake!!!)
