Softball

Willow's softball season is wrapping up with her last game this Friday. She's had a great season and learned so much!! She's done especially well playing the "pitcher" position (doesn't pitch, just fields the balls in the infield). She pays attention to where the runners are and does well knowing where to throw the ball and has really improved on her throwing accuracy. Since all the girls on her team are new, they're still learning the game too, so sometimes they're not ready to catch the ball Willow is throwing them. She played 3rd base a few times too and did really well knowing to catch the ball then run back to base in order to get the force out! She started off the first few games pretty confident in batting but grew hesitant for some reason and hasn't gotten on base much since then. We've practiced a bit in the backyard off the tee and being pitched to some, but she continues to swing late and step backwards during the games. Her coach has been great with her though - very encouraging!!

Last game of her season!!

Willow played catcher for a couple innings of her final softball game and did GREAT!! She did a great job of stopping the pitch and returning the ball to the coach/pitcher. She even was prepared for a fielded ball thrown back to her at home to get a force out!! Check her out here, here, and here

Meanwhile....Owen just wants to play...

Willow's team had their banquet after we got back from the beach. She'd missed the last two games due to the trip. It was sweet to see her teammates run up to her at the banquet and say, "Willow!!! You're back!!!!"

Unfortunately this afternoon storm rolled in right in the middle of the banquet, cutting it short.

She did get an awesome trophy though!!
