Happy 2nd birthday, Owen!

Birthday balloons for the birthday boy!

Check out the animated version here

A little reading after all that balloon craziness (I could watch this all day!)

Willow had to wait until she was 3 to have her own cup at Sweet Frog...Owen got his own cup at 2. Lucky 2nd child...

Owen Micah is putting more and more words together daily. This morning he swatted down next to Alli and said, "How you doin'?" We hear a lot of "I do it," "No want it," and "I like it." If anyone (including himself) sneezes or coughs, he'll say "bessyou" (bless you). We could probably work on getting him to say "thank you" clearer, but for now we think his "ay-oo" is pretty cute. It is pitiful, but we can't help but laugh at his pouty, incomprehensible monologues when he's super upset. I'll have to get one on video. 80% of the time Willow and Owen play very nicely together. The issue that causes the most conflict is when they're not sharing a toy well, or one of them takes the toy the other has, which ends up in a tug-of-war or Owen hitting Willow. Thankfully when we talk through the situation, Owen is very forgiving and will be quick to say "sorry" and give Willow the toy if she was the one who had been playing with it. He's also a very friendly and quick to say hello to people when he sees them. He still loves going to get Willow in the morning when she wakes up. Thankfully he has still been sleeping better in the mornings (with the exception of the past two mornings...maybe excitement for his birthday??), and we generally get a 2 hr nap in the afternoon. He'll take-it or leave-it at dinner, usually eating all or nothing of what is offered. Occasionally he'll have his 6:30 dinner, but not even all the time. If he's not eating with us, he'll often ask, "Hug?" to everyone at the table. How can you turn that up? He eats his own breakfast now (as opposed to everyone else's) which is usually cereal (Frosted Miniwheats) with milk. He's getting better at jumping on the trampoline and really enjoys it. This fall it seems like he was struggling just to walk around and keep his balance while Willow was bouncing and now he can hold his own and gets some good air! When he counts it's usually "4...7...8...9...10...11." His 7 is "seben" and 11 is "eleben." His favorite books are anything related to trucks and Clifford. When he's really upset, reading books helps to calm him down.

Here are Owen's 2-yr stats (4/29/14):
Weight: 32 lb (87%ile)
Height: 36.5" (97%ile)
Head Circumference: 20"
BMI: 16 (46%ile)
