Kite Festival

We enjoyed a beautiful morning at the Kite Festival nearby. It was in the low 60s with a slight breeze. We've never been to anything like it, but will definitely go back next year!!

One of the booths had paperbags you could decorate with streamers for a "kite:"

It was so beautiful to look up at the sky and see all of the kites around you! The pictures truly don't do it justice!

They handed out free kites and t-shirts for the first people there. After having to run to get her kite up in the air, she did get it up high enough that she was able to stand still and watch it fly. So cool!! (Owen, on the other hand, didn't want to hold the kite string but preferred to run and plop himself down in the grass.....okay...)

Again, pictures don't do it justice:

All the white dots in the picture are the free kites. It's hard to get perspective, but the kite in the middle was HUGE!!
They asked spectators to help unfurl the flag, so we grabbed on.

Then they let the kids go under! So fun!

Willow and Owen stood there smiling for a while, then embraced for a couple minutes. It was the sweetest thing ever!!

These were HUGE too! (and connected to each other! crazy!!)
 Beautiful!
