We've been waiting with anticipation to find out how much snow we would get out of the big storm they've been talking about all week. There was no way we were having school on Friday with up to 24" predicted between Friday and Saturday's snowfall. We went out to measure quite a few times (Owen played along for a while):
Saturday morning's measurement: 11"
Closer to 12" in the grass:
The kids are good about watching for her to return and letting her in right away:
Ready!!
The kids have enjoyed being in the snow too. We've gone out once each morning and once each afternoon. The snow has been super powdery so it hasn't made for good sledding or snowmen-making. Maybe tomorrow.
Willow played around with her robot kit that she got for Christmas. She built a rabbit and enjoyed using the remote to make it go. (Video trapped on my phone).
Owen got his second try at "mouse practice" in on Starfall. Will he even need to know how to use a mouse anymore??
Clearly we didn't get the Christmas decorations down before the snow. Eh....what's another week when it's already late January?
We didn't see our first plow come by until today at 3:00, which is pretty late compared to how frequently we saw them with last year's similar storm. Maybe the city counselperson on our street moved??
The plow going by did make for a few "free" snowballs though:
Sandbox?
The picture above (from today) reminds me of a storm two years ago (below) when Owen started crying because the snow was too deep for him to walk through. No fussing today about it, but...hey wait...he's in the same jacket???
Creating an art project from her idea book from Great Aunt Linda! Thanks!
We're predicting a few days off school this week too!
We're hoping for some sledding fun tomorrow!
