We had a fair number of things that we wanted our house to have when we moved and after looking at 52 houses, the one we bought didn't have a couple of the things on our list...one of them being a sunny area for a garden. Chris scoped out the sunniest area of our yard and thought an area in the front yard could work. He tried a couple things last summer, then expanded this year, even starting some from seed in the late winter. We had a big ice storm this winter that knocked a large branch into our yard, breaking part of the fence. Chris used that to make an arched entrance to the garden, as well as a fun woven gate with twigs and branches from the yard. He's one handy guy!!
The kids have enjoyed checking the garden regularly with Chris and learning as they go. It's fun to go out to the garden before dinner to get some spinach for salad or have a snap pea snack while you're in there!
Alli requests that we plant catnip next year.
