PA

We enjoyed a 5-day trip to PA to see Gramps and Gramma. Poor Whiskers hasn't learned what the suitcase means yet (aka the people are leaving you home alone for a while). Poor Tilly had been having some bm issues and Nana was gracious in agreeing to give her meds while we were gone and check on them every day. They brought Hannah and Hunter along a few times so I think everyone was happy all around!

I don't believe either of them fell asleep in this position but it was an unusual sight!!

So happy to be reunited!!

We took a canoe trip down the Allegheny River. We'd done it a few years ago but this time we did a different section of the river. There was a nice cloud cover the whole time so we never got too hot!

 

We saw plenty of ducks and geese, a few swans, and a heron!

We took a trip out to the Kinzua Bridge. It had been the longest and tallest railroad structure before being hit by a tornado in 2003. In 2011 they made it into a pedestrian walkway so you can go out 600 feet and see the towers that were destroyed as well as the beautiful valley. They added a glass platform so you can look down (300 feet). It was pretty neat!

The tornado picked up those towers and bent them like they were pipe cleaners!!

I'd love to go here in the fall when the leaves are changing!

There was a short 1.5 mile hike that we did after a picnic lunch. We even saw a deer!

We stopped in Mt. Jewett on the way back for some icecream. I'd asked about their scoop size because they had "baby," 2 scoop, 3 scoop, up to 6 scoop options. Thankfully I asked because she said one scoop is softball sized. Sooooo....here's Owen's "baby" scoop:

We enjoyed a chance to see family at Sara and Murph's campsite. The pool was a bit crowded but the stream water was cool and the kids enjoyed cooling off there with Logan.

Owen enjoyed giving Dakota and Malley treats:

Sara had a 4th of July craft for the kids:

We even surprised these two with a cake to celebrate their upcoming 50th anniversary since it's hard to have larger gatherings these days.
